Firstly, it'd be fair to say that blogs and other 2.0 technologies offer us an opportunity to express ourselves informally, using our own voice and our own personalities.
As one guy said recently on the ABC, they are a substitute for the over-the-fence conversation - a bit like talk-back radio.
